Cebu City is the oldest city in the country and is also known as the “Queen City of the South” and the Seat of Christianity in the Philippines. The influence of Spanish and Roman Catholic culture is imprinted all across the island. Museums in major cities of the island can prove our heritage. It is so likely that the visitors would want to see the most visited Basílica Menor del Santo Niño, The Cebu Cathedral, the cave of Our Lady of Guadalupe, “The Last Supper” at St. Joseph’s Shrine in Mandaue City, our Birhen sa Regla in Lapu-Lapu City, Our Lady of Fatima-Theotokos Mountain in Carcar, the miraculous Mother Mary in Simala, the oldest church of the island that is found in Boljoon and many more. Lately the Shrine of San Pedro Calungsod in the compounds of Cebu Archbishop’s Palace is inundated with devotees.

Those are some of the religious grounds visited by pilgrims all over the world. In addition to that, there is the infamous Magellan’s Cross and the Lapu-Lapu Monument in Mactan.

You can get exhausted and be overwhelmed with the tour all over Cebu, and at the end of the day you would want to seek refuge in the comforts of your hotel room and find a serene place …that is when you would want to relax and find peace at the Chapel in the house.

Yes, there is a chapel at The Center Suites. The only pension house in the country with a full facility oratory. You can hold your spiritual retreats and recollections in this wonderful place.

Inspired by the prelature of the Roman Catholic Church: Opus Dei, which is an institution that has set up Centers all over the world to help men and women become saints in their ordinary daily lives through the teachings of St. Jose Maria Escriva.

Thus, we are a “Center” in our own way, a refuge for travelers, families and groups who seek a place of peace in the duration of their visit in Cebu.
